Monoethylene Glycol (MEG)

The base glycol of antifreeze and polyester production.

Product description

Because MEG markedly depresses the freezing point of water it is the standard antifreeze component in cooling and heating circuits. It is also the principal feedstock for PET and unsaturated polyester resins. Its hygroscopic nature makes closed-container storage advisable.
