Monoethylene Glycol (MEG)
The base glycol of antifreeze and polyester production.
CAS No 107-21-1Glycols & Glycol Ethers
Chain-extending glycol for polyurethane and unsaturated polyester systems.
DEG offers a higher boiling point and lower volatility than MEG and is used as a chain extender in polyurethane and polyester systems. Its hygroscopic nature makes it a humectant in adhesives and textile finishing chemicals. It is also favoured in gas dehydration units.
The product descriptions on this site are informational texts explaining where each product is used, and do not replace a technical specification. The binding information for formulation and process decisions is the technical data sheet (TDS) and safety data sheet (SDS) of the batch delivered. Before moving to a new application we recommend requesting a sample and running a preliminary trial under your own conditions.
