Trichloroethylene (TCE)
The classic chlorinated solvent of vapour-phase degreasing systems.
CAS No 79-01-6Chlorinated Solvents
Non-flammable, very strongly solvating chlorinated solvent with a low boiling point.
Methylene chloride is used in paint stripping, polyurethane foam production and extraction because it carries no flammability risk and has exceptional solvency. Its low boiling point makes it easy to remove from the process. Its use is restricted in many countries, so current regulations and exposure limits must be reviewed before deployment.
The product descriptions on this site are informational texts explaining where each product is used, and do not replace a technical specification. The binding information for formulation and process decisions is the technical data sheet (TDS) and safety data sheet (SDS) of the batch delivered. Before moving to a new application we recommend requesting a sample and running a preliminary trial under your own conditions.
